Skinfit distinguishes three cuts: athletic fit is close-fitting and designed for high speeds, regular fit allows a little more room, and loose fit is intentionally loose. The cut is not a matter of style, but rather a function – a baselayer only works in direct contact with the skin, while an outer layer needs space for the layers underneath.
