Gravel Layering Guide

Gravel
Gravel riding means long hours in the saddle in changing weather. Skinfit layering for gravel covers a wide temperature range and can be quickly adjusted on the go.
Baselayer
Gravel riding means long hours in the saddle, often far from any rest stops. A Baselayer keeps your skin dry for hours and prevents you from getting chilled with every change in pace or in the twilight.
Midlayer
The Midlayer keeps you warm on long rides and wicks moisture away from the body. On gravel tours, its temperature range is crucial: it needs to function from the cool morning start right through to the midday sun.
Insulationlayer
The insulation is your safety net on long gravel rides. It warms you up as soon as you stop or the weather turns bad, and packs down small enough to fit in a bikepacking bag or backpack.
Toplayer
The Toplayer protects against wind, rain, and spray. On gravel roads, it's the layer you rarely wear and never forget: when the weather turns, you're often far from the nearest shelter.
Pants
On long gravel stages, endurance is what counts most for your legs. The pants have to stay comfortable for many hours, keep your muscles warm and cope with dust, gravel and spray.
