The fit describes how closely a garment fits the body. Skinfit distinguishes three cuts: athletic fit is close-fitting and designed for high speeds, regular fit allows a little more room, and loose fit is intentionally loose. The cut is not a matter of style, but rather a function – a baselayer only works in direct contact with the skin, while an outer layer needs space for the layers underneath.

UV protection keeps harmful UV radiation away from skin and eyes. For clothing, it's indicated as UPF: UPF 45 allows around 2 percent of radiation to pass through, thus blocking over 97 percent. The protection is achieved through the material, density, and color of the fabric and applies to the covered areas. Skinfit sunglasses completely block UV-A and UV-B radiation; the filter category also indicates how much they darken visible light.

The packed size indicates how much space the item takes up when packed – measured in its compressed state and given in milliliters. 250 ml is roughly equivalent to a small water bottle. This value helps you with the decision you make before every trip: whether to take a layer with you even if you don't expect to need it.

The stated weight is for a single unisex item in size M, women's items in size XS – smaller sizes weigh less, larger sizes correspondingly more.
