Here you can see which sports this garment was designed for. Every Skinfit product is created from a specific requirement: the cut, material, and details are based on how you move, how long you're active, and what kind of weather you're exposed to. This information doesn't exclude other uses – it simply shows you what the garment is designed for.
The fit describes how closely a garment fits the body. Skinfit distinguishes three cuts: athletic fit is close-fitting and designed for high speeds, regular fit allows a little more room, and loose fit is intentionally loose. The cut is not a matter of style, but rather a function – a baselayer only works in direct contact with the skin, while an outer layer needs space for the layers underneath.
The packed size indicates how much space the item takes up when packed – measured in its compressed state and given in milliliters. 250 ml is roughly equivalent to a small water bottle. This value helps you with the decision you make before every trip: whether to take a layer with you even if you don't expect to need it.
The water column rating indicates how much water pressure a material can withstand before moisture penetrates it. It is measured in millimeters according to EN ISO 811 – a textile is considered waterproof from 1,300 mm. The higher the value, the longer and heavier the rain can be, and the more pressure the fabric can withstand where it is stressed: under backpack straps, at the knees, when sitting.
The stated weight is for a single unisex item in size M, women's items in size XS – smaller sizes weigh less, larger sizes correspondingly more. Weight is always a trade-off: lightweight materials save grams on your body and in your backpack, while more robust fabrics are more durable. The longer you're out and the more you're carrying, the more every gram counts.
TrueFit™ represents precisely engineered functionality and details that adapt to the body's natural movement. The adjustable hood with internal elastic drawcord adjusts to every head movement and stays securely in place without obstructing your field of vision.
The padded TrueFit™ hood also fits over a helmet, providing additional protection in adverse conditions.
The robust outer material reliably keeps out wind and moisture, while the PrimaLoft® Gold Cross Core Insulation (133 g) keeps you pleasantly warm.
The individually adjustable waistband prevents wind and cold from penetrating and ensures an optimal fit.
The elasticated cuffs fit snugly around the wrist and, in combination with gloves, provide a reliable seal against penetrating cold.
The two zippered front pockets offer secure storage and keep cold hands warm thanks to their soft fleece lining. Inside, a large mesh pocket for ski goggles or climbing skins, as well as a small zippered pocket, provide additional storage options.
